Proposed Affordable Housing

Outline Planning Application for 12 affordable dwellings, Curlieu Lane, Norton Lindsey

Wolverton Parish Council and Norton Lindsey Parish Council have recently carried out a survey seeking community views on the proposed development at the rear of Brick Kiln Close, Curlieu Lane, Norton Lindsey (the plans for which for are available below).

Whilst the land concerned is actually located in the Parish of Claverdon, as it is surrounded by land/homes in both Wolverton Parish and Norton Lindsey Parish, we realised that our residents would have views on this proposal.  We were also keen to take into account the views of Claverdon Parish residents who live in Brick Kiln/Morgan Close and Gannaway.

The results of the survey can be found here

The answers provided to this survey will be taken into account by both Parish Councils when they make representations to Stratford District Council on the proposed development.

The Parish Councils are not able to approve or reject the application – this decision will be taken by Stratford District Council – the Parish Councils can only make representations on behalf of their communities.

If you have views either for or against this proposal, we strongly urge you to make individual representations to Stratford District Council via their website.

The Location

The proposed development is contained in the large field located at the rear of Brick Kiln Close off Curlieu Lane in Norton Lindsey (access to the development would also be via Brick Kiln Close).

The Proposal

The proposal is for “12 Affordable Dwelling[s] on 1.91 Acres of agricultural farmland know as Gannaway Farm”. The proposal consists of:

  • 7x 2 bed dwellings (single storey)
  • 1 x 3 Bed Dwelling (Single Storey)
  • 3 x 3 bed Dwellings (2 storey houses)
  • 1 x 4 bed Dwelling (2 storey House)

CCLT describe the proposal as “The proposed layout (shown below) and design of buildings is meant to represent a modern farmyard conversion.  There is a play area in the central green, allotments and a nature area.  Each home has parking for two cars as the survey of the Parish taken in 2012 showed 95% of residents use their cars at least once a day”.

The full outline proposals submitted by the Claverdon Community Land Trust are contained in the documents below (with the design and access statement containing an overview of the proposal). Click on each document to view.
